Dear Non-American Black, when you make the choice to come to America, you become black. Stop arguing. Stop saying I'm Jamaican or I'm Ghanaian. America doesn't care.

About This Quote

The first time I heard this, I laughed and thought it was funny. Now, however, it's a serious statement that really needs to be taken to heart. As we know, there is a large population of people from Africa in America as as well as other places around the world. In America, people from all over the world are able to come together and live as one.

Everyone has a right to live as they please and have no one tell them they are not living as they should. To those who say this is racist, they are absolutely right. This statement reveals a major problem in our society today.

Instead of recognizing everyone for who they are, we choose to tear down those who look or sound different from us. We live in a country that welcomes people from all over the world where we can live with relative peace and harmony. But every once in a while, someone will make a statement like this one and cause all of us to want to come together and fight for what is right.
